Gallery of Other Costumes

Here are some photos of other costumes I've made, among other things...

Disclaimer: Most of these were made to pass the costume requirements for The Renaissance Pleasure Faire and were not designed to be historically accurate to a reenactment degree. Several of them are reasonably accurate, but others are more in a general flavor rather than an attempt at historical accuracy. For pics of other faire friends, click here.

My older stuff that I don't have pages for, in roughly chronological order:

Mother Ann and a *ahem* "Customer"

Mother Ann ran our leaping house and Dave sports an outfit I made in blue wool in 2002. I wish I had a better pic of it...

Dave again and my Godson, Brandon

A little better pic of the shoulder details. Still no full pic of it. *sigh*

2001-the Lil' Pig

My hot-weather gear, in cotton and silk. So comfy...

Hot, hot day - I must have run through a hose!

From here you can see some of the bodice details, like the trim along the opening edge and the contrasting floss colors on the covered lacing holes.

Mom & Dad, hard at work!

I need better pics of these, too. Mom sports an Irish style dress that I appliquéd knot work on the back of and at the corners of the skirt (just visible). Dad sports a blue cotton ensemble with brocade on the doublet yoke and a bunch of soutache trim. Is it any wonder I turned out the way I did?

Green middle class

Michele's dress, made in 2000(?), is green wool with green silk guards. The black woven trim is wool, as is the hand embroidered underskirt.Silk partlet with soutache trim at neck & cuffs.

My 2nd middle class dress

This was all hand embroidered wool. It had a few fit issues and one of the comments on AIPON was wondering if a victorian threw up on me. Ah, AIPON... I miss the civility...

The black wool again

along with my very good friend Kyle. Her dress was not my creation but I did end up ripping it apart and remaking it after this pic was taken. A very interesting project...

My first middle class dress

This was gray cotton (sheets! I was very poor) and a cotton/poly brocade. I was most proud of my trim which was dark gray bias tape with twisted strips of grosgrain ribbon between them. Nice effect for not much $.

The back of the gray dress

You can see a little bit of the sun/moon applique I put on the flat cap.

A little detail on the bodice and sleeves

you can see the trim treatment

My Mom

in my first Irish-type dress. The knotwork design is grosgrain ribbon.

Dad simply must match!

LOL, oh the things I made him wear! This doublet and slops was of the same corderoy with the grosgrain knotwork trim. The cookie is his own embelleshment and the pose his own flair. :-)

Elizabeth and I in our Pict-ish days.

Blue paint is a valid costume choice!

Some Faire Pals etc. - not in my clothes but I like to see them...

Our Queen from 2001, I think.

I think this was the first year she had the lavender dress. The dragon is all made of exotic silks and was my mother's entry in the Master's competition.

House Noteworthy

My family away from home, and fyne musicians, too!

More Noteworthys

And a couple of visitors...

The Troll - My old friend Bevan

I've known Bevan waaaaayyyyy too long. He makes the most wonderful sand paintings. This has nothing to do with my own costuming, but I love his get-up.

I was happy to get permission from several photographers to post pictures from the 2006 RPF South run that just ended. Lucky for me, many of these photos are the best shots I have of my costumes in their natural habitat.

All photos are copyright 2006 and the private property of the photographer credited. Please contact them if you want a copy.
