The Design

The design is basically the same as the Red Venetian but I wanted a split front skirt like this picture (courtesy of Bella)

The Color

Ahhhhh, the color. Well, I knew I wanted pink and my favorite is salmon pink. I found a sari online with a really nice, appropriate (almost) period repeat in it in salmon pink. The And it was cheap! And it was MINE!

The Fabric

Alas, ebay did it again... The sari that came did have a flower repeat but not the same one. Still it was pretty and I liked it, so no biggie. Unfortunately, it was not salmon pink. It was fuchsia! or should I say, it was FUCHSIA!!! Once I got over that and decided to make it anyway, I loved it! The gold lurex design just glowed and the pink was actually toned down by it. LOL!

I found some fuchsia china silk to pipe edges and line sleeves with. I wanted a green underskirt but could never find one I liked with the pink, so I used my banana silk petticoat with it.

I wore my same camica from the red Venetian, and the new banana silk petticoat. That's it. I boned the bodice so I didn't need a corset.

The Dress

The dress is the same pattern as the red Venetian but with a split front skirt. I didn't use as heavy a lining on the bodice so it wrinkles quite a bit and the shoulders don't stay up. I'll have to fix that later when I finish it.

I did refine the back waist point a bit so it lays smoother.

The Accessories

Uh...pretty much, none. I was in a hurry. LOL!

I do plan on making a partlet for this- I have a gold mesh I want to use and it will help in keeling the sleeves up.
